Pre-empting a discussion that I hope will develop on the forum here at Drupal Theme Machine, I wanted to throw up a quick post about flexibility.

I have seen forum posts all over the normal haunts of web developers requesting Drupal themes that have flexible layouts, such as the choice between 1, 2 or 3 columns. So that is what we intend to offer, it seems silly that you wouldn't be able to change the layout.

Typically developers clients are looking for 'un-Drupal like themes', which is a demand that requires stunning designs and layout control.

Onwards and upwards as they say, something of which Drupal developers will know a thing or two about. With each new version of Drupal comes new features, bug fixes and security patches. However users are also faced with the challenge of upgrading their old sites to the newer version.

You will no doubt be pleased to know that we will port all our designs to Drupal 6 and continue to do so as new versions are released. Currently module developers are playing catchup, with a lot of contributed module needing to be ported to Drupal 6 before user take up gets going.

I started a casual thread at Digital Point Forums a few months back asking for the opinions of users regarding paid Drupal themes and whether they though there was much demand. Almost everyone that replied said that they would like to have more quality Drupal themes availible to them.

Many said they would use the Drupal content management system more than they currently do if more quality themes were available. This view is reflected in the the many forum post I come across on Digital Point forums and more so on the Drupal forums.

Companies (such as ourselves) have been springing up left, right and centre offering Drupal themes. Now perhaps the most pre-eminent template site, Template Monster is offering Drupal themes, apparently due to the high number of users requesting them. No surprises there then for anyone used to developing sites with Drupal, as finding adequate themes has always been an issue.
